Spread the love, uniquely…

Spread the love, uniquely…

Everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is a manufactured event but, hey, your love isn’t. Balance the commercial-ness of this saccharin day with a genuine gift from the heart. To do this, you must avoid giving V-day’s traditional tokens of love (i.e. a dozen long-stem red roses) and instead spread the love with gifts that are as unique as your love. Here’s just a few…ValentinesGifts

KRJ Comments: Style through the years…Christina Aguilera

Singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera got her start at age 13, starring alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling and Keri Russell in “The All New Mickey Mouse Club.” Shedding the wholesome Disney image, Aguilera forged an experimental path for her musical career, from covering ‘40s classic hits to sexually explicit material and electronic beats. Now a mother to son Max and daughter Summer, Aguilera’s manages to remain true to herself through her personal style. “Aguilera’s sexy-chic personal style has remained consistent no matter what her life transition. This is an important message for every mom to glean: Cling to your personal style,” says Katie Rice Jones, author of the maternity fashion book, “Fashion Dues & Duen’ts,” and a nationally known style expert. Read more of my style commentary on Mom.me (part 3 of a 3-part celebrity series)…Style through the years

Holding a panel discussion

Designer jeans will likely be your singular most expensive maternity wear purchase. To get the most for your money it’s important to get-up-to-speed on the kinds of styling they offer. While cut (for instance: skinny or slim), rinse, and treatment are considerations, a maternity jean’s panel style is the most key. If you haven’t been pregnant before, jeans sporting stretchy panels can look sort of creepy. But trust me, these panels are genius. Use this chart to sort out the myriad of maternity panels and find your most flattering fit.

KRJ commentary: Style through the years…Denise Richards

KRJ commentary: Style through the years…Denise Richards

At age 15, Illinois-born Denise Richards and her family moved to California where she was soon discovered by an agent and began her international modeling career. Richards transitioned from model to actress with roles in film and television, including “Starship Troopers,” “Love Actually,” as a Bond girl in “The World is Not Enough” and on “Two and a Half Men” with then-husband Charlie Sheen. With breezy beauty and casual glamor, Richards’ personal style evokes the quintessential California girl.

Pregnant with her first child with Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards proudly showed off her baby bump at “The Big Bounce” premiere in January 2004. The gold sequins and sandals add a touch of glamor to the casual lines of the curve-hugging pencil skirt and tank, demonstrating her preference for glitzy ease.

Just one month after the birth of her second daughter, Denise Richards achieved a new mom look that was both relaxed and deliberately sexy at the UPN Stars party in July 2005. While the cleavage-revealing, silky lavender camisole could be worn as bedroom lingerie, the basic makeup and jeans prevent the ensemble from looking overly risqué.

At the Fashion Rocks concert in September 2006, Denise Richards wore a simple yet seductive blue-gray dress. The form-fitting ensemble steers clear of racy with its halter neckline, knee-length hem and its sheer, ruched overlay. Katie Rice Jones, author of the maternity fashion book, “Fashion Dues & Duen’ts: A Stylist’s Guide to Fashionably Embracing Your Baby Bump,” and a nationally known style expert, says “Through the years Richard’s style has proven she is a real beauty inside and out. Her clothes never take center stage but rather help amplify her intrinsic beauty.”…
